Aaron Wilson of Kia Kaha construction project managed the building of Platypus Playcentre a daycare building. It is a 4305 sq ft building and we built it from October 2007 with completion and opening of our daycare in May of 2008. With a tight time line and budget Aaron was able to work closely with the designer to ensure that our vision for the centre was completed on time, on budget and to plan. He was always available and able to work with us to find solutions to the inevitable construction issues that arise. After living with our 3 children in 1700 square feet for 6 years, we were feeling the need for some extra space! Our kids were getting older, and our dream was to have a basement and some office space for our home-based business. We finally had a designer help us draw up the plans to fill in the space under our deck, and thus began our major renovation! We hired Aaron of Kia Kaha Construction based on recommendations from a few friends. We could not be happier with our choice. Aaron was very thorough with his estimates on cost, and always gave us a couple of scenarios to work with. Not only was he on the site every day, he was working - and not just supervising - which is what we really appreciated. He has great skill on the job and was always looking for ways we could save money. It was his first experience building a sauna, but he managed to work with as many experts as possible to make sure we did everything properly. His attention to detail is obvious in every inch of the sauna and mudroom. One of the greatest things about Aaron is that you can mention an idea one day – and he will run with it the next. Like the chalkboard he built for the kids playroom! A fleeting idea, that materialized into something amazing.
